Products
About 50 percent of leather garments are made of sheepskin while the remaining are in pigskin.
Sheepskin is sourced from Zhejiang province, while pigskin is purchased from Shandong and Hunanprovinces. Sheepskin models are priced from $60 to 80$ per piece while those made of pigskin are between $30 and $50 each.
A price increase of 5 percent or less is expected in the next six months due to the Yuan′s appreciation and higher leather cost as well as labor cost.
The company has 51 members in R&D team. It consists of 3 designers, 8 pattern makers and 40 sample makers. One CAD system, including 2 specialized cutters and a drawing board, are used in product development.
A small percentage of design work, however, is subcontracted to specialist companies.
New releases from the company highlight the natural quality of leather. Products have minimal or no Coating at all. These are washed and crinkled to create a rugged look.
Manufacturing
In April 2006, the ISO 9002 certified company expanded its factory by 20, 000 sqm, increasing total area to 35, 000sqm.
The warehouse is used for storing both incoming raw materials and finished products. It is equipped with a computerized measuring machine and needle detector.
Samples and patterns are made in one workshop using A CAD system, 80 Baoma sewing machines, a cutter And an ironing table.
Cutting is done in two workshops manned by 100 Workers. The process is done manually.
There are 45 lines in the two sewing workshops. Equipped with a total of 700 Unicon and Baoma sewing Machines.
The finishing workshop has 17 ironing tables. Sewing Of buttons and trimmings onto the garments and final Inspection are done in this workshop.
Capacity is fully utilized during the peak season, which Runs from June to October. During these months, some Production is subcontracted.
The company encourages its clients to place orders During the off-season, so that better prices and Prompt delivery can be ensured.
The QC team of 28 workers conducts tactile and visual Inspections on products.
